Run For Freedom - 5km Fun Run

The Run for Freedom 5km Fun Run (or walk) at Preston Road Park (Minnippi Parklands) is designed to encourage participants to challenge themselves in a fun environment which focusses on using exercise to aid positive mental health. This is a flat 5km course which is suitable for most fitness levels.

All participants will be set up with an Everyday Hero page linked to our major fundraiser Suanne Lowery who is participating in the 2018 Dancing CEO event run by the Women's Legal Service. Participants are asked to gain support from their family and friends by way of donations to their Everyday Hero page. There will be a major prizes for highest fundraising individual and second highest which will be announced Monday 19th March, 8:00am on our Freedom Events Facebook page.

Parking for the event is located in the car park at Meadowlands Road Picnic Ground and the car park at Preston Road at the softball fields. Please ensure you arrive 20min prior to your start time on the day (you may need to take into account extra walking time from your parking area).

Entries close Tuesday 13th March 2018 (unless capped numbers are reached prior)

All  proceeds  for  this  event  aid  the  Women's  Legal  Service,  a  wonderful  organisation providing free legal and welfare help to Queensland women and their children who experience domestic violence. Last year alone they provided support to over 11,000 women and with them 17,000 children affected by violence. However, resource constraints mean that 50% of calls for help continue to go unanswered.
